What do you mean it's not a sport? It takes real skill to down ten pints and still throw straight arrows. Darts Bets in here please.

Did anyone notice this kicked off tonight at the Ally Pally?
I don't really have a punt on the darts but would absolutely love to go to this on one of the big nights.
The Power is 4/6 (
Ladbrokes) - not a bad price I guess considering his unbelievable record in this tournament.
Last year's finalist Simon Whitlock is 12/1 (
Betfred), James Wade is 2nd fav at 8s (
Ladbrokes) and Barney is 12s (
Sportingbet)
Any darts experts out there?

I've been away so missed the first few days of the tournament. Gutted. So I've missed the ante post betting, but I think you might want to wait and see what happens in the early rounds before sticking a bet on.
Phil Taylor would be the obvious favourite. He's a class above the others on his day, but he hasn't been in great form of late, but you'd never back against him even still.
Any other outsiders for the title are few and far between. James Wade is the next best bet although he blew up incredibly in the last major TV tournament when in a commanding lead to lose in the final of the Grand Slam of Darts in November.
Raymond van Barneveld is in shocking form, so I'd stay clear of him. The only other 2 I could possibly see beating Taylor are Adrian Lewis and Simon Whitlock, but those two have been inconsistent in the last few months.
He's mega short favourite, but you can't see past the Power I'm afraid.

I've gone for Dennis Priestley +2.5 sets at 1.83 v Gary Anderson this afternoon. Think Priestley will give Anderson a good game and take a couple of sets of him.

Watching Barney tonight he's struggling a bit. Gone to a final set.
A lot of money comin for Anderson now in to 4/1, Taylor on the drift. Was 4/6 pre tourney. Now Evs.

Just turned on the darts to see Taylor go 3-1 down to Webster. First to 5 as well.
I've taken a bit of the action on Taylor to win at 2.38 on
Betfair.

Nice one. The Power takes the 5th set against the throw and I've laid him now at 1.69. Locked in some profit if Taylor wins and don't lose anything if he gets beat.
