IPL 2010 Betting

Why would someone match your odds if they are a few points worse than on offer though (which you have to do to get book above 100%)?

Also if your bets are not matched and the game starts as you describe are you liable to a big loss?

also you have to ship in with some serious cash to make even a small profit in green right?

thanks mate

What your looking for is the market moving around before the event starts. Sometime in play will help, eg today i had an unmatched lay on the Rhajestan Royals but it as matched quickly when it went n play Unfortunately I was at work so couldn't tinker with my book.

What I often do s lay the books on events that are still 24 hours away, events that will start v soon will have a book really close to 100%

Another thing you can do is lay at just over 100% , so your first in the queue to get matched. As soon as it's matched, repeat.

Unfortunately it's not a way to make money quickly, rather a way to slowly build your betfair balance

I'm all about building! thanks for the info, much appriciated

What would have happened to your Rhajestan bet if it had not been matched however?

Sorry, so it's best to lay events that start over 24 hrs away or not? Looks like over/under goals starts markets start close to 100% - 99.7% for lay all on MAn City vEverton (saturday) before you drop your backer stake. Is this a decent market and percentage to experiment on?

Like i say you need a good bank of cash to do this right?

To be honest mate, I'm fairly new at this too and have just started the book-laying.
I've started on the t20 as I know it's a volatile market and the price swings dramatically after the game goes in play. That way I was confident of my bets getting matched.

If it hadn't been, it could have spelled disaster for the balance. As I say though, with this you can bail at any point as you can tidy up your book quite easily (especially with the only 2 options in the t20)

No sure about how well other markets will be with this?
