Sevilla have undergone major changes this summer, with boss Unai Emery being replaced by Chilean Jorge Sampaoli. The playing personnel have also changed at the Europa League winners.
The likes of Ever Banega and Kevin Gameiro have left and been replaced by the likes of Joaquin Correa and Franco Vasquez. The Sevilla squad is a very different one to the one that won the Europa League.
Sampaoli’s team has already enjoyed a competitive outing, losing 3-2 in extra-time of the European Super Cup against Real Madrid.
Sevilla are underdogs heading into this clash at odds of 4/1 with Bet365 to record a victory over the Spanish champions.
Barcelona have strengthened their defensive options with the signings of French international defensive duo Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne. Portuguese international midfielder Andre Gomes has also arrived from Valencia, while Denis Suarez has returned to the Nou Camp from Villarreal.
Their pre-season campaign has not been great, as defensive uncertainty has plagued their performances. The Spanish champions suffered a 4-0 defeat against Liverpool and conceded twice against Italian side Sampdoria.
Despite those factors the Blaugrana will always have a major attacking threat going forward in strikers Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez, although Neymar is currently at the Olympics with Brazil.
The Spanish champions are favourites to win this first leg clash at odds of 4/6 with William Hill.
Sevilla produce an impressive display against Real Madrid in the European Super Cup and Barcelona have endured a mixed pre-season campaign. Our big tip is to back the draw at odds of 10/3 at Betfair.
