Chelsea are likely to be a very different prospect this season under new boss Antonio Conte. The Italian arrives in London with a big reputation to live up to. Conte has brought in defensive midfielder N’Golo Kante and striker Michy Batshuayi.
The Blues have a very good record against West Ham, having suffered just two defeats against the Hammers in the last 21 meetings in all competitions.
The home side can be backed at odds of 7/10 with Ladbrokes to open life under their new boss with a victory.
West Ham enjoyed a very good first campaign under Slaven Bilic last season, finishing seventh in the table and earning a European spot in the process. This is a big season for the Irons with a big move to the Olympic Stadium from their tradition home of the Boleyn Ground.
Bilic has been active in the transfer market with the highlights of the signings coming in Ghana forward Andre Ayew and Algerian playmaker Sofiane Feghouli this summer. Both players could make their debuts at the Bridge, with Argentinian attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini currently sidelined through injury.
The Hammers make the short trip to Stamford Bridge as major underdogs at odds of 5/1 with Betfred to claim the victory.
The draw can be backed at odds of 31/10 with BetVictor and does not look like a terrible bet, considering Chelsea’s propensity to draw at home.
Chelsea are likely be Premier League title contenders under Conte and I can see them recording a narrow win over the Hammers at odds of 7/10 with Ladbrokes.
