Fulham v Newcastle United
Friday 5th August
Sky Sports 1 / Sky Sports 1 HD
Fulham have undergone a traumatic couple of seasons and will look to begin life under new boss Slavisa Jokanovic with a victory in this one, but will be very much underdogs at odds of 3/1 with Bet365 to record a victory.
The Cottagers have been active in the transfer market signing the likes of Sone Aluko, David Button and Kevin McDonald, who all have experience of the second tier. However, they suffered a big loss on the eve of this game, losing star striker Ross McCormack to Championship rivals Aston Villa.
The visitors will head into this clash in good heart and are odds of 21/20 with BetVictor to record a win in this clash. The Magpies have kept Spanish boss Rafa Benitez and have also done some good business in the transfer market.
The likes of Georginio Wijnaldum and Andros Townsend may have departed, but the north east side have made some shrewd signings as well. Striker Dwight Gayle and midfielders Matt Ritchie and Mohamed Diame have all been impressive in their previous stints in the Championship.
Gayle arrived from Crystal Palace in the summer and is not guaranteed a start, but he looks good odds to open the scoring at odds of 13/2 with Bet365.
For those who like to sit on the fence the draw is odds of 13/5 with Bet365, which may not be the worst bet in the world.
Newcastle have kept a number of their top players despite relegation and added quality additions to their squad as well. If they click then the Magpies look good for a victory in this one at odds of 21/20.
