Everton head into this vital clash almost at crisis point, after a poor run of results and a 4-0 mauling at the hands of neighbours Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday night.
To make matters worse for Roberto Martinez and his side they have a defensive crisis, with the likes of Seamus Coleman, Phil Jagielka and John Stones all struggling through injury and Ramiro Funes Mori suspended.
The FA Cup has been a bright spot in a disappointing campaign and the Toffees have come alive in the competition. Martinez’s team is yet to concede in this competition this season, although looks set to change with all their defensive problems.
Manchester United’s tails are up after a good run of form that has seen the Red Devils claim five wins from six games in all competitions. Last time out they recorded a comfortable victory over fellow FA Cup semi-finalists Crystal Palace.
Louis van Gaal’s team have not found it as easy as Everton in the FA Cup and needed a replay to see off Premier League rivals West Ham in the quarter-finals.
The Red Devils look like likely winners in this and can be backed for the victory at odds of 21/20 with Betfred.
Everton do have history of upsetting the odds against the so called ‘big teams’, so a draw after normal may not be the worst bet in the world and that is available at odds of 13/5 with Bet365.
Everton are in disarray at the moment and their injury problems definitely hand the advantage to United and I can see the Red Devils recording the win at odds of 21/20 with Betfred.
