Germany v England Betting Preview: Germany to beat old enemy England

Two European football’s biggest rivals meet on Saturday night in Berlin, as Germany host bitter arch-rivals England in a big friendly international.

Germany v England

Friendly International

Kick-off: 19:45

Live on ITV / ITV HD

Germany actually head into this difficult friendly in patchy form on the international scene, having lost two of their last four games. Last time out Joachim Low’s team suffered a 2-0 defeat in France, but their record on home soil is rather formidable, as they have suffered just two defeats in their last 18 home games.

Germany have a decent recent record against England, having won four of the last six meetings, including a 4-1 win over the Three Lions at the 2010 World Cup. The Germans also came out on top the last time these two teams met with Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win at Wembley back in 2013.

Germany can be backed at odds of 4/6 with BetVictor to come out on top in this clash.

England have enjoyed a decent run of form of late, having won six of their last seven games. In fact Roy Hodgson side have suffered just one defeat in their last 17 international matches. The Three Lions only defeat during that period came in a 2-0 friendly loss to reigning European champions Spain.

England have also won on their last two visits to Germany, so Roy Hodgson’s team will be heading to face the world champions in good spirits. Hodgson’s side are odds of 5/1 with Bet365 to come out on top in this game.

The visitors will look towards striker Harry Kane to give them that cutting edge in front of goal. The Tottenham striker is currently leading the scoring charts in the Premier League and can be backed at odds  of 3/1 with Ladbrokes to find the net at any time during this clash.

Both sides will fancy their chances of a win in this clash, but a draw would not be a bad bet at odds of 3/1 with Paddy Power.

Big Tip

Despite England playing well of late, I can see them coming unstuck in Berlin and Germany claiming the win at odds of 4/6 with BetVictor.
