Out-of-form Crystal Palace host inconsistent Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Sunday with the two sides in need of a win for very different reasons.
Crystal Palace v Liverpool
Live on Sky Sports 1 / Sky Sports 1 HD
The home side heads into this clash on the back of a horrendous run of form. The Eagles have failed to win any of their last seven top-flight games, picking up two draws and suffering five defeats. That poor run of form has seen a promising Premier League campaign drift away and Alan Pardew’s side are now 14th in the table.
Palace came close ending that winless run last time out at Sunderland, but Fabio Borini secured a 2-2 draw for the Black cats with a 90th minute strike. Palace have been playing better of late and can be backed to win at odds of 29/10 with BetVictor.
One up point for the Eagles in recent games has been the form of striker Connor Wickham, who has now scored four goals in his last two top-flight appearances. The former-Sunderland striker is decent odds of 3/1 with Ladbrokes to score any time during this clash.
Liverpool have been the definition of inconsistency. The Reds followed-up a Capital One Cup final defeat against Manchester City with a 3-0 victory over the Citizens at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will believe they now have an outside chance of finishing in the top four, but their erratic form and a host of teams above them are likely to hinder their chances of claiming a Champions League spot.
You can back the side from Merseyside to claim a win in this one at odds of 23/20 with William Hill.
For me though the value could be in the draw. Neither side is in any sort of form, so the draw at odds of 5/2 with Bet365 may be the way to go in this clash.
I am backing the draw in this game, but I think this could be a goal-filled game, so the over 3.5 goals scored bet available at odds of 14/5 with BetVictor looks like a tempting one
