Midtjylland v Manchester United Betting Preview: Danes to gain a draw against United

Midtjylland host Premier League Manchester United in the last 32 of the Europa League on Thursday night.

Midtjylland v Manchester United

UEFA Europa League Last-32 1st Leg

Kick-off 18:00 18th February 2016

Danish champions are relative newcomers on the European scene. In fact they are newcomers on the football scene completely, having only been formed in 1999. The Danish outfit have not played since 10th December, so could be slightly ring-rusty.

Their form before the break was not great either, as they had won just one of the last ten games in all competitions. In fact Midtjylland lost two of their last three group games in this competition. The home side can be backed at odds of 5/1 with Bet365 to record a win in this clash.

United’s European campaign this season has not gone well so far, as they are in the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group.

However with the Red Devils struggling to make the top four in the Premier League, it seems that winning Europe’s second tier competition could be their best chance of making the Champions League for next season.

United will have to overcome a poor recent record in this competition to progress, as United have suffered three straight defeats in the competition and also conceded two or more goals in those three losses.

The Red Devils are however heavy favourites to win this first leg clash and can be backed at odds of 8/11 with StanJames to take an advantage home for the second leg.

With both teams not in especially great form the draw may be the way go in the betting stakes. The draw can be backed at odds of 14/5 at Sportingbet.

Big Tip

This game is unpredictable, as Midtjylland have not played for a while and United are without captain Wayne Rooney. For me the draw may be the bet to go with at odds of 14/5 with Sportingbet.
