Belgian champions Gent host Wolfsburg at Ghelamco Arena on Wednesday night in the Champions League last 16 first leg.
Gent v Wolfsburg
UEFA Champions League Last-16 1st Leg
Kick-off 19:45 17th February 2016
Live on BT Sport 2 / BT Sport 2 HD
Belgian champions Gent looked to be heading out of the Champions League after three group games, but three consecutive wins meant they qualified against the odds for the last 16 of the competition.
Gent have been on a decent run of form domestically, only spoilt by defeats against title rivals Club Brugge in both the league and cup. Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s team are currently top of the Jupiter League and will hope that they take their decent form into this clash. The Belgian side are odds of 15/8 with Paddy Power to win this game.
Wolfsburg are the favourites to take the victory in this clash at odds of 17/10 with BetVictor, but in truth their form has not been great in recent months. The Wolves made it through to the last 16 by topping a group involving PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United and CSKA Moscow.
Dietar Hecking’s side are eighth in the Bundesliga, having one just one of their last five matches, but that win came last time out with a 2-0 home defeat of Ingolstadt. The Wolves away form of late has been great either, as they have suffered defeats in their last two games on their travels.
The draw may be the way to go on this one. Gent are in decent fettle at the moment, but Wolfsburg seem to have saved their best performances for this competition this season and cannot be completely written-off. The draw can be backed at odds of 12/5 with Bet365.
This could be a pretty open game and my big tip is for both sides to score, which can be backed at odds of 4/5 with Betfair.
