In one the biggest ties of the Champions League last 16, PSG host Chelsea the Parc De Princes with both teams looking for an advantage for the second leg at Stamford Bridge.
PSG v Chelsea
UEFA Champions League Last-16 1st Leg
Kick-off 19:45 February 16th 2016
Live on BT Sport Europe / BT Sport Europe HD
The home side’s domestic winning run of 16 games came to an end at the weekend, as Lille came to the Parc de Princes and claimed a goalless draw.
However, Laurent Blanc’s side have looked in dominant form this season, with their only defeat of the current campaign coming in a 1-0 loss at Real Madrid’s Bernabeu. The French champions also had the best defensive record in the group stages conceding just once, which came in that defeat against Real in Spain.
PSG have a very talented squad and they will be eying a repeat of last season’s defeat of Chelsea at this exact stage. Blanc’s side are odds of 8/11 with BetVictor to come out on top in this first leg clash.
Chelsea’s nightmare campaign has turned around slightly in recent weeks and last time out the reigning Premier League champions hammered Newcastle 5-1 at Stamford Bridge. The win will have helped increase confidence ahead of this tough trip to France for the Blues.
Guus Hiddink’s side are now on a 12-match unbeaten run in all competitions, which ten games less than their opponents. The Blues face a difficult task in getting a win in Paris, but are available at odds of 5/1 with Betfair to emerge from the French capital with a lead for the second leg.
The Blues will look to Spanish striker Diego Costa to help them snatch an away goal in this clash. The former-Atletico Madrid star has now scored five times in his last seven Premier League appearances and can backed as an anytime scorer at odds of 10/3 with Ladbrokes.
PSG are a dangerous team, but for some reason I get the feeling that Chelsea may just return from the French capital with a draw, which can be backed at odds of 14/5 at Bet365.
