Reigning SPL champions Celtic travel to title rivals Aberdeen on Tuesday night in one of the best games of the Scottish season so far.
Aberdeen v Celtic
Scottish Premier League
Kick-off 7.45PM 3rd February 2016
Live on Sky Sports 1 / Sky Sports 1 HD
Aberdeen have been Celtic’s nearest challengers in the SPL this season and the Dons will know that this clash will be a vital one. Derek McInnes’ sides are now six points behind the reigning champions in the table and know that defeat would effectively end their title bid, as Celtic have lost just two of their last 34 SPL clashes.
The Dons form has recovered after a shaky spell and McInnes side are now six games unbeaten, winning four of those six games. The Dons are underdogs in this clash and are odds of 18/6 with BetVictor to come out on top in this clash.
Celtic have hit a good run of form in the SPL, having won four consecutive league wins. However, that run of form was halted last weekend, when the Hoops suffered a surprise 3-1 defeat against Ross County in the semi-final of the league cup.
Ronny Delia’s side will be favourites for this clash, as the reigning champions have won six out of the last seven meetings with Aberdeen in all competitions. Delia’s side have been in good scoring form, scoring two or more goals in nine of their last ten away games.
Their form has not been as convincing as other campaigns. The Hoops are usually further clear at the top of the table, but Aberdeen have provided a realistic challenge this season. You can back Celtic at odds of 5/6 at Sky Bet.
This is a massive game in the race for the SPL title race and I believe these two teams could cancel each other out in this clash.
