Stoke City welcomes league leaders Arsenal to the Britannia Stadium on Sunday afternoon, with the Gunners looking to record just their second win at Stoke in the Premier League.
Stoke v Arsenal
Kick-off 4.15pm Sunday 17th January 2016. Live on Sky Sports 1/Sky Sports 1 HD
Stoke are enjoying a fine campaign under Mark Hughes. The Welsh boss has struck a good balance between skill and work-rate at the Britannia Stadium. The likes of Marko Arnautovic, Bojan Krkic and Xherdan Shaqiri provide the flair, while Glenn Whelan brings the steel in midfield.
The Potters are eying up the European spots and currently sit seventh in the table, after a 3-1 win over Norwich last time out. The Potters usually give Arsene Wenger’s side problems at the Britannia Stadium and are odds of 10/3 with William Hill to win this one.
Arsenal currently it top the Premier League table, but only lead second place Leicester because of better goal difference. The Gunners threw away two points at injury-ravaged Liverpool last time, conceding a last-gasp goal to draw 3-3 at Anfield.
Striker Olivier Giroud netted a superb brace and Aaron Ramsey also got on the scoresheet, but the Gunners had to settle for a point in the end. Giroud has now scored 12 Premier League goals this season and is odds of 10/1 with Bet365 to win the top-flight golden boot.
Giroud will need to be at his best against a Stoke backline that has looked very resolute this season. Wenger’s men are odds of 19/20 with Coral to record a victory.
The Britannia Stadium has proven a tough place for Arsenal to visit in the Premier League, illustrated by the fact the side from north London has taken just one win from nine top-flight visits to the Potteries. I can see the Potters holding out for a point in this one.
My big tip is for the game to be drawn and there to be under 2.5 goals scored, which is available at odds of 16/5 at Titan Bet.
