It’s been a busy old week at Old Trafford this week with the arrivals of Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger and France international Morgan Schneiderlin signalling Louis Van Gaal’s intent to return the Red Devils to the top of the table.
United have already secured the services of forward Memphis Depay and defender Matteo Darmian this summer and the two new arrivals take their spending to more than £80m.
But one transfer rumour that refuses to go away is that of Sergio Ramos making his way from Madrid to Manchester. The central defender has been linked with a move to United since the Summer began, with many linking his future to that of United ‘keeper David De Gea who, if rumours are to be believed could be going in the opposite direction as part of any future deal between the clubs.
Odds on Ramos to be at Old Trafford in time for the season kicking-off are as short as 6/4 with SkyBet but Betfair have it at 7/2, perhaps in response to the news comign from Spain that Ramos has been named the new captain at the Bernabéu, despite the Spanish centre-back being unhappy with club president Florentino Perez after failing to be offered a better contract.
Where do you think Ramos will end up? Is he likely to stay at Real (2/5 Ladbrokes), land at Old Trafford (7/2 Betfair) or does his future lie elsewhere such as Man City (20/1 SkyBet), Juventus (25/1 Betfair) or Bayern Munich (28/1 Ladbrokes)
