Lets face it, either player can win this. They both know each other’s games inside out, having played 41 times. Nadal leads the H2H 22-19 and on clay its 13-3, though there last 2 matches on this surface it was Djokovic who was the victor. In fact Novak has won their last 3 match ups. The last time Nadal defeated the Serbian was last year at Roland Garros, that epic match which ended 9-7 in the 5th. Rafa has an amazing record here in Paris, 8 times the champion, who is to say it won’t be number 9!
The match is huge… Nadal going for title number 9, Djokovic trying to win the only Grand Slam that eludes him. Also the ATP number 1 ranking is up for grabs! Nadal is like a machine on clay, the ball just keeps coming back and coming back stronger, no matter where on the court he is. Djokovic is also very powerful and he can set up points brilliantly, but will he have the mental ability to win this title against Rafa on a court the Spaniard has made his own, especially knowing he should have won their match up here last year. Novak’s recent success over Rafa may just allow him to take this match today and seeing as I tipped him at the start of the tournament I am going to chose Djokovic as the Winner
