Australian Open Tennis – Day 4 Predictions

Australian Open Tennis – Day 4 Predictions

The heat is on in Melbourne and the players are feeling it… Illness, Upsets and retirements galore, it is hard to predict what will happen at the Australian Open. Below are a few of my predictions.

G Dimitrov 1/2 Bet365 to defeat Y Lu – The Bulgarian will be stretched in this match. Lu is hugely experienced, but I think the youthfulness and talent of Grigor will get him the win, though could go to 5 sets

A Pavlyuchenkova 2/5 Bet365 to defeat M Minella  – The Russian will be keen to take advantage of this good draw. She has the ability to play well against the very best, but has struggled with any consistency in the last 12 months. I think she should be able to deal with the often stubborn Minella in this 2nd round

Voegele v Cibulkova over 21.5 games @ 1/1 Bet365 - Dominika is the favourite to win the match, however Voegele will not be afraid and can play excellent tennis herself. I expect at least one close set and the match could even go to 3 sets.

Bellucci v Tsonga over 32.5 games @ 8/15  Bet365 – Jo Wilfried the heavy favourite but I think Bellucci if he gets a good start could stay will Jo and keep it close. If Tsonga off to a blinder then The Brazilian may well wilt.

J Sock v G Monfils over 32.5 games 8/11 Bet365 – The young American is very capable and will be up for the challenge against Gael today. Jack can take a set if his opponent has a lapse in concentration which he often does!

Paire v Kyrgios over 37.5 games 8/11 Bet365 - Paire is the big favourite here, but big serving Kyrgios with the crowd behind him could cause a big surprise. If Benoit lets the crowd get to him then his hot headiness could cause him problems. I see 4 or 5 close sets….
