The 2014 ATP season gets underway this week and the main draw of the Brisbane International has some interesting matches lined up. One of these is an all Aussie battle between the in form Ebden and the Aussie youngster Kyrgios. Ebden had a good end to 2013 and looks set to try for an ATP top 50 place in 2014. However the strength of the ATP Challengers he won in Asia were questionable. Both players are popular and the crowd will cheer on both, though I think they see more potential in Kyrgios and so he may be favoured if the match is close. Kyrgios in 2013 eased into the ATP top 200 a rarity for a teenager these days. Only 18 he knocked out Stepanek in the French Open, but favours hard courts. If his serve is working I think Nick will be up for the challenge and hugely motivated. Concentration will be key! Could be a close match but Kyrgios offers more value!
