The final showdown.
There may have been many upsets in this years championship, but the men’s final will be contested by the world’s current top 2 players….. top seed Novak Djokovic and 2nd seed Andy Murray
We all know the crowd and Henman Hill support will for Andy Murray, but there will be plenty of clapping and shouting from Novak fans on Centre Court too.
Murray as the underdog needs to attack Novak. He needs to avoid being passive and waiting for Djokovic mistakes, they are not likely to come. Murray needs to use his 1st serve speed to win as many cheap points as possible and also keep the ball as deep as possible to avoid Novak smacking short balls for winners.
The weather could play a big part…Physically I think Novak is in better shape and if over 5 sets this could count. Andy though knows how to win big on this court as he did at the 2012 Olympics and took out Djokovic in that tournament. He has since won his first Grand Slam title, but also lost easily to Novak in Melbourne earlier in the year in the Australian Open final.
It should be a cracking final and plenty of ups and downs…..
