AC Milan v Udinese – Sunday 3 February – Live on ESPN 7:45pm
Mario Balotelli is set to make his AC Milan debut as the rossoneri host Udinese on Sunday evening. The new signing from Manchester City should start up front alongside Stephan El Shaarawy and M’Baye Niang after joining earlier this week. But will he be able to fire the goals for his new club to help them climb into a Champions League place for next season?
Milan currently lie in fifth place in Serie A, four points and four positions better off than their opponents. They will need Balotelli to show the undoubted quality which he possesses in order to rise into the Champions League zone.
It’s difficult to keep the maverick Italian striker out of the news. During his spell in England, it was often for off the pitch activities! So he and his new team-mates will be hoping he can make the headlines on the pitch, starting in this fixture. You certainly wouldn’t put it past him grabbing a goal or two on his debut. He’s 4/1 (Bet365) to score the first goal of the game, and 6/1 (Coral) to score two or more goals in the game.
Udinese are a good side though, so it won’t be an easy task to get past them. They possess some good players, but their star man is Balotelli’s Italian international team-mate Antonio di Natale. He has 14 goals to his name so far this season, so is definitely one to watch in the goalscorer markets. He’s 7/1 (Coral) to be first goalscorer, with odds of 2/1 (Coral) of him to score anytime.
Those two players are certainly the ones all eyes will be on, but there is plenty of other quality players in both sides. Their defences aren’t the best so it could well be an open game with a few goals.
