The Willie Mullins-trained duo On His Own and Prince De Beauchene feature among 84 entries for this year’s John Smith’s Grand National. The pair head the market at 16/1 with Aintree’s official betting partner, Betfred.
Last year’s third-place finisher, Seabass, is one of six horses priced at 20/1, including Betfred Becher Chase runner-up Join Together and the improving Katenko.
Willie Mullins has entered seven horses this year and is a 4/1 shot with Betfred to train his second Winner of the big race. There are 32 Irish-trained horses entered in total and it’s 9/4 that one of them can cross the finishing line first for the first time since Silver Birch triumphed in 2007.
Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths is looking forward to the Aintree spectacular, “This year’s Grand National entry is up slightly on last year and it looks another high-quality field.
“Willie Mullins already has one John Smith’s Grand National Winner on his CV, and with both of this year’s joint-favourites in his care, he has a genuine chance of training his second.”
