Yesterday’s selections returned a healthy profit, but can we top that today?
With 2 winners and a 6/1 second tipped e/w, you can’t complain too much. But today we’re looking for the elusive full house (something I’ve personally only managed twice before!) There’s plenty of top quality jumps racing over in Ireland, but here in England there’s also plenty of action on the all-weather tracks at Lingfield and Wolverhampton to get our teeth sunk into.
Norwegian Reward is a short priced favourite, available at best price of 15/8 at BetVictor at the time of writing. You would have to pay me to touch him at that price however, and I think I’ve found a horse to oppose on. After struggling over 1m4f on his first 3 races, a change of trip and tactics saw Bridge That Gap win close home at Kempton, beating the consistent Neige D’Antan. Assuming similar tactics are applied, then this could be 2 in a row for Eddie Ahern’s mount. Available with BetVictor at 11/4 best price, or as big as 37/10 with Betfair, Roger Ingram’s colt is the value in this.
This looks a tough race to call with 3 or 4 of these all having similar form and chances. I’ve opted for Proper Charlie in this though, based largely on the success in the past fortnight of jockey Jim Crowley (53%) and trainer William Knight (67%). Knight can also boast 24% win-rate on the all weather this season. Together, the pair are also successful, with a 26% strike rate on 4yo+s when teaming up. The gelding is available at 7/2 across the board, with the danger, Italian Tom also available at 7/2 with Paddy Power.
Outlaw Torn has won 2 and placed once on his last 3 runs over C&D, and is available with Bet365 and BetVictor at 6/1. Given the decent form over C&D, the price seems fair, with course experience a useful tool here at Wolverhampton. At the price offered, an e/w bet offers great value for money, with the Richard Guest showing good profit from his 3yo’s this season too.
This final selection is something of a longshot, but was brought in as a late replacement after an original selection was declared a NR in the last here. Much like the selection in the previous race, Piscean boasts good form at this course over 5, 6 & 7 furlongs, and is available at a massive 14/1 with Paddy Power, with the next best price 12/1 at BetVictor and William Hill going as short as 9/1. Brilliant e/w value in my eyes.
Bridge That Gap (11/4)
Proper Charlie (7/2)
Outlaw Torn e/w (6/1) NAP
Piscean e/w (14/1)
