I’m aiming for 4 in a row today in my Bet of the Day feature. If you’ve been following me from the start and gone with a level stake each time you’d be up over 700% – not a bad return at all.
So here’s hoping I’ve not jinxed things today and the run can continue.
Today I’m looking at the gulf in quality between Willem II and Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie. Willem II are bottom of the table, 22 points behind Ajax who have hit a bit of form. Now that the Champions League has gone into hibernation for the winter the Amsterdammers can start to concentrate on the league and set about catching PSV who are 4 points and 4 places above them.
To win today Ajax are just 2/7 – a sure bet by the looks of it but won’t make us much money. In their last 10 meetings Ajax have won 9, with Willem’s solitary win coming in August 2008. But it’s the margin of victory where the value lies today. Over those 10 games Ajax aggregate win is 34-6 and only twice has their win been by a solitary goal. The defeat in 2008 was the only time they’ve failed to score 2 or more and in fact scored 3 or more on 6 occasions.
Normally I’m an over 1.5 goals kinda guy but odds of 1/4 don’t appeal. But if Ajax manage one more goal those odds jump up to a much more acceptable 4/5 at Bet365.
Ajax to score 3 or more 4/5 (Bet365)
