Granada v Real Sociedad
Live on Sky Sports 4. Kick off: Saturday 7:00pm
This week’s first live Sky Sports La Liga action sees Granada host Real Sociedad with the hosts aiming to haul themselves out of the relegation zone following a heavy defeat last week away to Malaga.
Granada may have expected to lose at the Champions League last sixteen side but the 4-0 thrashing gave little room for encouragement. That defeat was the latest in a poor run for Jose Antonio Anquela’s side that leaves them just one point above bottom place.
A lack of goals has been a major problem with their blank against Malaga the fourth time in four matches they have failed to score and two wins from ten tells you the price of 6/4 against a win this weekend is far too short and should be avoided.
Real Sociedad on the other hand have surged into the top half of the table following a six game unbeaten streak that started with a 2-1 win away to the aforementioned Malaga. A recent 5-2 whipping of Valencia at the Mestalla – a result which cost Mauricio Pellegrino his job – proves Sociedad are undaunted when playing outside the Basque country and given Granda’s current slump, odds of over 2/1 for another away win look large.
Former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela has played a large part in recent success for his side, netting four in his last five games including goals in both the victory at Valencia and Malaga with the latter coming after just one minute. Vela returns from suspension this weekend and we like the odds of 8/1 against the Mexican to once again strike first.
