Mr Fixit Says… Rangers Will Edge It

In his exclusive column here at Selectabet.net, in association with McBookie, Mr Fixit gives us his thought’s on the Glasgow Derby and the rest of the weekend’s Scottish fixtures…
CELTIC reckon Robbie Keane’s so fast officials are getting caught out with offside calls. Well, they might need to be quick to see him in action tomorrow because he is doubtful through injury. Let’s hope the Irishman makes it because it’s for occasions like these he was signed on loan from Spurs and his presence will showpiece the Old Firm clash even more.
Firms have been having a bit of fun with the Celtic complaint and McBookie.com go 5/2 Keane is wrongly caught offside during the contest. They are also betting on how many times Keane will be flagged and go 7/4 none, 13/8 one, 11/4 two and 6/1 three or more. The match itself could almost be billed a title decider with Rangers seven points clear of their rivals. A draw would suit Walter Smith’s side but he’ll be looking to the likes of Kenny Miller and Kris Boyd making life tough for Celtic’s defence which is likely to include young Josh Thompson.
I reckon Rangers’ experience of the game and in general will see them edge it. They are 7/5 with McBookie.com who go 2/1 Celtic and 23/10 the draw. The firm will also refund all losing bets on the match if it finishes 0-0. Most first-scorer bets will be targeted at Boyd, Miller and Keane and all are 5/1 to bag the opener.
Elsewhere in the SPL, first up it’s Aberdeen against Hearts and I’m looking for the under-fire Dons to at least snatch a point after a miserable run. They are 6/5 while Hearts are 21/10.
Dundee United should be too strong for Falkirk at home but are just 4/6 against 4/1 the away.
Hibs are just 11-10 to beat St Johnstone and should do so in a match that could produce a few goals. The Edinburgh men are 11/10 against 12/5 Saints.
On-form pair Motherwell and Kilmarnock clash at muddy Fir Park and this has draw written all over it.
St Mirren have some injury doubts but should get the win they need from Hamilton’s visit. Consider the Buddies at 11/10.
Inverness are the First Division bankers at home to Ayr but odds of 2/5 don’t excite me. Much more attractive is 7/4 on title-chasing Ross County against a Partick Thistle that has gone off the boil in recent weeks.
In the Second Division I like Alloa (8/11) at Peterhead and Dumbarton (5/4) at Arbroath. The games at Clyde, Brechin, Forfar and Elgin are already off so check for more postponements.
