MrFixitSaysIn his exclusive column for Selectabet, in association with McBookie.com the legend that is Mr Fixit gives us the lowdown on the action in Scotland this weekend…

ARMCHAIR fans will be treated to three SPL games this weekend and McBookie.com reckons they’ll see the pick of the action.

With no FA Cup rights, Sky TV and ESPN have been forced to turn their attention to Scottish football with today’s Motherwell v St Mirren encounter and meetings between Falkirk and Dundee United and St Johnstone and Celtic tomorrow on the box.

McBookie.com believe the armchair fans will be more entertained than those who take in the non-TV games and offer 6/4 the live ones will produce most goals.  Non-TV games pays 13/8 with the tie 5/2.
McBookie.com are so confident there will be goals they promise to refund all losing bets on the games – up to £50 – if they finish 0-0.

One of the games not on the box is Rangers v Hearts and this could be a low scorer with the Ibrox men missing five strikers including Kris Boyd, Kenny Miller and Nacho Novo.

Hearts don’t score many either so one strike could settle it. To grab it Gers are 4/11 with Hearts 8/1 but it could end in stalemate.

Aberdeen are an industry-best 10/11 to spoil Jimmy Calderwood’s Pittodrie comeback by beating Kilmarnock.

Motherwell have failed to win on telly since 2005 and that run could be extended as they are held by St Mirren.

Best bets could be Hibs who also a best 4/6 to beat Hamilton at home. Hibs are aiming to bounce back from defeat at Dundee United last week while Accies have just endured three energy-sapping clashes with Rangers.

Celtic could be 12 points behind Rangers with two games in hand by the time they face St Johnstone tomorrow so three points will be a must for Tony Mowbray whose side then face Hibs in midweek. St Johnstone have won three in a row and will fancy their chances so backing them at 13/2 isn’t crazy. My feeling is this could end all square while Celtic look a bit short at 2/5.

Earlier Dundee United, with three wins and three clean sheetson the bounce, should edge the points at Falkirk. United are 5/4.

The games in the First Division are as tough to call as usual but safest bets could be Ross County at home to Ayr. Alloa have signed experienced striker Bryan Prunty and the move could pay dividends with a win at Stenhousemuir. The Wasps are 6/4.

Another Second Division away that looks good is Brechin who are at injury-hit Clyde, Brechin are 6/5.

In the Third you can’t ignore Livingston (9/20) at Stranraer while Forfar are decent value at 6/4 away to Albion Rovers who played twice in the Scottish Cup last week.

  • Scottish treble: Hibs, Alloa, Livingston
