  2. tommy says:

why has mike triffit gone for barnsley to beat newcastle?? any ideas

  3. selectabet says:

He reckons of Newcastle’s 7 wins in a row they’ve not looked the best team most of the time and that 5 of them have come against teams that are out of form.

Also, Barnsley won at Blackpool last week – their 1st home defeat of the season.

I’m very tempted myself, Newcastle’s run of wins can’t go on forever and at 10/3 (Betfred) Barnsley do look a decent shout. Triff’s Treble has come up twice in the last two weeks too – so he’s in a bit of form himself.

  4. jambo says:

Burnley , Sunderland , Leeds , Hibs and Dundee surley a winner !!

  5. resznik says:

Hey, hows it going? Finally got the internet in my new place afteN 3 months due to BT but anyhoo, onto the betting.

Have to go for a big bet on Spurs to bet Wolves at home.

Also a double on Defoe & Adebayor to score at anytime.

Hope everything is good with you SB & best of luck to everyone! Not had a proper look yet so no doubt be back with more later :)

    • selectabet says:

      Hi mate,

Welcome back :) I had the same prob with BT and gave up in the end and went with Virgin.

Good luck with your picks. I’m just gonna get mine on now.

      • resznik says:

Well I used to have Virgin but they’re not in my area anymore – for the time being. They’re making their way – apparently

I’m also tempted by the 7/1 odds on Aston Villa to beat Manchester United. Just thinking Villa have too much pace & with injuries to Man Utd could be too strong for them. Will wait on that one! :)

  6. deano says:

    chelsea -1 handicap @ 4/6 £20 LOST

    tottenham -1 handicap @ 8/11 £20 LOST

    stoke city 6/5 £10 LOST

    birmingham @ evens £10 WIN

    watford @ 4/5 £10 LOST

    huddlesfield @ 1/2 £20 WON

    charlton @ 8/11 £10 WON

    Stirling @ 4/6 £5 WON

    Tottenham
    Chelsea
    Huddlesfield- £10 treble LOST

    ………………………………………….

The results in the premier league have just summed up how unpredictable this league can be. Who would of thought a team who have conceded just 1 goal at home in the Premier league this season would concede three in one game against everton. Tottenham losing to wolves, I just don’t understand. I’ve never been a user of the word banker but Chelsea and tottenham seemed certain to win, and you can’t blame me for adding huddlesfield for a treble. Thankfully, lower league teams have minimised my losses and with a spread of £115, the loss is just under £40.
I’m going to moaning about it now, I know alot of people backed Chelsea and spurs and are as disappointed as I am

  7. Davelad says:

Anybody got any Sunday tips then.

    Cheers Davelad

  8. Nick says:

    Udinese to win at Siena

Both teams to score in the Liverpool – Arsenal game

    Cheeky double.

  9. deano says:

Nothing really catches my eye this weekend but good luck selectabet and nick with your picks.

Might have a very small double on liverpool and cardiff.

  10. deano says:

Another home loss for Boro! I had cardiff at 5/2 but only had £2 on it. Still a fiver profit though. I didn’t go for Liverpool although I do fancy them to win against what looks to be a weak arsenal side looking at the starting 11s.

Have gone for a few under 2.5 matches:

    Catania v Livorno £2
    PSG v St. Etienne £2
    Sochaux v Grenoble £2
    Sp. Braga v Naval £2

…just for a bit of fun

  11. selectabet says:

I must apologise to all AC Milan fans. I backed your team today thereby condemning them to a defeat against a side who you have beaten on 20 of the their last 24 visits to the San Siro. Sorry.

Also, just in case anyone has plans to enjoy the Liverpool-Arsenal game – I’ve backed it to be an Over game so expect a 0-0 thriller!!!

  12. deano says:

Damn was wasn’t expecting that, Palermo winning 2-0 at the san siro! According to flash scores udinese are actually 1-0 down to siena

  13. deano says:

It really has been a shocker of a weekend! I was just wondering what happened to the 10k challenge. Has the majority of the leagues you bet on finished. If so, when do they kick off again.

    • selectabet says:

Just been busy mate so not much time to study form – and it shows.

Although as you say the Scandanavian leagues are off just now and they’re usually good for Overs. I had a wee look today at Volendam but decided against it. They won 5-0!

      :)

  14. deano says:

Yeah a good start for my four under matches. Made about £1 profit on that one lol!

  15. deano says:

I might have a go at unders in the ITALY: Serie C1/B when the next games are played. All 9 games finished unders!

  16. deano says:

well good luck with that! Sorry i thought there was 9 unders in nine matches in the italy serie c1/b. But their must of been some sort of delay as it said the games were finished but goals started flying in from nowhere

  17. deano says:

PSG 3-0 AT HALF TIME :(

  18. deano says:

    Catania v Livorno (Under 2.5 Goals) stake £2 Returns £3.07 :)
    PSG v St. Etienne (Under 2.5 Goals) -£2.00 :(
    Sochaux v Grenoble (Under 2.5 Goals) stake £2 Returns £3.14 :)
    Braga v Naval (Under 2.5 Goals) stake £2 Returns £3.33 13 Sports :)
    Middlesbro’ v Cardiff (Cardiff) £2 returns £7.00 :)

£10 stake £6.54 profit. My best result for weeks ha ha! I might stick to unders and overs from now on, especially after the Chelsea and Spurs result

  19. deano says:

    Hi Selectabet

I’ve created a thread on Punters lounge about an under/over 2.5 goal system I’ve just came up with. Please check it out, I’m just paper trailing it for a few weeks to see if it is profitable. Would be greatful if you could comment. I know your busy so it will be much appreciated

    • selectabet says:

      Hi mate,

I did something similar a while ago. I had a slightly different theory in that I only went with games at over 80% on BetDevil.

      I tracked it here;
      http://thedailypunt.com/forum/system-proofing/108193-backing-over-2-5-goals-80-a.html

Also slightly different to your theory was that I actually targeted games where BetDevils %age was greater than the bookies probability %age based on their odds. The thinking being that in the long run I’d be getting greater value, as long as BetDevil’s system was accurate, and come out on top.

I also use other criteria to determine which games to bet on, such as relative league positions (I prefer when the home team is a good few places above the opposition in the league), historical record between the teams (sometimes you just get two teams that cancel each other out or score loads) and goals scored / concede in the last 6 games. All are judgement calls rather than probability based.

My belief is that there’s definitely something there. But it’s worth paper-trialing for a while. Then you should try to fine tune it by analysing the data you have to look for deeper trends.

I would post at Punters Lounge but they banned me a while ago, before I could even post just because of my username: ‘Selectabet’?!?!? I might try again.

      Good luck with it.

  20. deano says:

Ok thanks for your feedback. I am paper trialing it first for a month or so to see how the results go. Only if a decent profit can be made consistently I will put my own money on it
