Liverpool need to pull off yet another great escape if they’re to extend their stay in this season’s Champions League. A win in Debrecen may not be enough if Fiorentina defeat the already qualified Lyon. Their hopes look forlorn but they must keep up their end of the bargain to stand any chance.

But that won’t be easy for a side that have won just once in the last ten games and will be without their talismanic striker Fernando Torres. Ryan Babel and Albert Riera also miss out and whilst their presence won’t be missed as much as Torres it does minimise Rafa Benitez’s attacking options.

As far as tonight goes it could be another tight affair. Liverpool minus Torres are not as potent, especially if N’gog is given a starting berth alone up front. They’re the second lowest scorers in the top half of the Hungarian league with 22 in 13 so going Under 2.5 goals could be the way to go.
