Chelsea get their pre-season under way this evening with a match against the MSL’s Seattle Sounders at the Qwest Field Stadium.

New boss Carlo Ancelotti has taken a strong twenty-six man squad to the States including Captain John Terry and outcasts from last season, Claudio Pizarro and Andriy Shevchenko who will be hoping to revive their Chelsea careers under the Italian.

These friendly games are notoriously difficult to assess with question marks over fitness, team selection and quality of the opposition. However, anything other than a Blues win here would be a bit of a surprise. Ancelotti will be keen to get his tenure off to a winning a start and no doubt the players will feel they need to prove themselves to the new boss.
