Hull v Aston Villa – Live on Sky Sports 1. Kick Off 8pm

Hull v Aton Villa

Phil Brown’s Hull may have taken the Premier League by storm this season but if they don’t start to get a few wins on the board they’re in danger of being in more trouble than Stevie Gerrard. With just one win in 10 and after losing 9 goals in the last two the Tigers need to find a response in tomorrow’s live game against Villa to get their season back on track.

But Martin O’Neill’s men are a team on form and are unbeaten in seven and a win would take them back up above Arsenal and into that coveted 4th position. They’ve done well on the road this season too, winning 6 out of 9 so they’ll fancy their chances at the KC.

Can Hull Upset the Odds?

The bookies seem to think so too and the best odds you’ll get are 1/1 at SkyBet on an away win but I think Hull represent great value at a charitable 16/5 with Bet365. After Phil Brown delivered his half-time dressing down whilst still on the pitch in Manchester he got a reaction in the 2nd 45 and I think that’ll continue over into this match. Hull have proven that on their day they can live with the best in the Premier League so over 3/1 seems a bit on the high side to me.

Better value still could be the 13/10 at Paddy Power on Hull in the Asian Handicap market. They’ve got the Tigers with a (0, +0.5) of a start which means that even they only manage a draw you get half your stake back and the other half at those 13/10 odds. It’s got to be worth a look.

Goals Galore

Goals also look on the agenda despite the fact that Villa have been involved in 4 goalless draws this season. I’d rather concentrate on the recent games involving Hull. 8 of their last 10 outings have finished with over 2.5 goals. In fact those 10 games have seen almost 4 goals a game with the net bulging 39 times in total.

Since their 0-0 draw with Fulham at the end of November, Villa’s last 6 games have seen 23 goals, that’s almost 4 a game too. So I’m slightly surprised that the best odds on their being over 2.5 goals is a big as 5/6 at Bet Direct, SkyBet and Stan James. That looks like a license to print money so get it on it before those odds are gone.
