World Cup Betting: Mines a Treble

World Cup Babes

I never did like Ashley Cole. His gift-wrapped backpass that handed Kazakhstan a consolation goal at Wembley also cost me a win of a couple hundred quid so now I hate him even more. As posted here I had England to win 5-0 on a permed treble that included Wales to win 2-0 and Denmark 3-0. The other two duly obliged and it was only Borat’s boys goal that stopped me cleaning up. But I’m going for it again tomorrow night in the hope that it’s 3rd time lucky. Here are my 3 picks;

Croatia

Croatia are home to the hapless Andorra and there is no way that they should lose anything at the back to this lot, despite shipping 4 to England last month. Andorra have only scored 2 in their last 9, losing 24 in that time. Both teams were in the same group for Euro 2008 qualification and Croatia hit the Andorrans for 6 and 7 so it might pay to go high on the correct score front again. Picking the spread is the most difficult part but I think I’ll go with 4-0, 5-0 and 6-0 in the hope that the Croatians don’t repeat their 7-0 win of 2 years ago.

Northern Ireland

It was always going to be difficult for the Northern Ireland side to repeat their feats of the Euro 2008 campaign. Their faltering World Cup campaign should be given a boost with comfortable win over San Marino though. Much like Andorra, the minnows just don’t score away from home so a clean sheet is on the cards for Nigel Worthington’s men. How many will they score at the other end though? I’m going to with a spread of 3-0, 4-0 and 5-0.

Bosnia-Herzegovina

Third pick is a tricky one; on paper Italy v Montenegro looks a good shout but the Italians haven’t been scoring too many of late and Montenegro appear to be improving with each campaign. Czech Republic v Sovenia also looked a possibility, except Slovenia won on their last visit to Prague so I’d rather leave that one alone, as with Portugal. They should see off Albania quite comfortably but whilst the Albanians lost 5 the last time they were in Portugal they managed to net 3 of their own – so no bet for me.

Instead I’m opting for Bosnia-Herzegovina to win to nil against Armenia. The Armenians haven’t scored in their last 5 internationals so I’m hoping they don’t break their duck tomorrow night. The home side banged in 7 without reply against Estonia last month so it’s not unreasonable to expect a few goals tomorrow again. I’ll be going with 2-0, 3-0 and 4-0.

Again it’s 27 bets (3 x 3 trebles) and here’s the best odds I could find;

Let me know if you’ve any bets or systems for tomorrow nights footie.

    Hi Jeanpierre,

    Not all bookmakers will allow you to place this bet because you’re selecting more than one outcome for each game.

    Last time I manged to get the bet on at Blue Sq. I also think Bet365 and William Hill take this kind of bet.

    You might not get the best odds but at least you’ll get the bet on.

    Good Luck!

    Great bet thanks for posting. I managed to put it on with SkyBet. But your right Blue Square do allow it too but William Hill dont.

    Fingers crossed!

    Cool. Northern Ireland make the breakthrough. 1-0 after half an hour.

  10. selectabet says:

    2-0 to NI just before half time.

    Still 3-0 to BH – thats all good!

    2-0 to Croatia – need a couple of late goals for the home side

    I’m going to allow myself to swear……

    FUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!

    That goal in BH for Armenia cost me a 780/1 treble.

    I was on NI 4-0 at 7/1, Croatia 4-0 at 11/2 and BH 4-0 at 14/1 with Blue Sq.

    :(

  18. Mark says:

    Bloody Armenia!!!!

    Can’t believe it…

    Had NI 4-0 6/1, Croatia 4-0 11/2 and BH 20/1 with SkyBet. Gutted. Oh well, you win some you lose some…
