Ryder Cup: Team USA Favourites After Morning Foursomes

A superb morning of golf from Team USA has seen them installed as favourites to take the Ryder Cup from the Europeans for the first time in four attempts.

In two of the matches they fought back from being 3 down to claim a half and a win. With that added to the point gained by the Leonard / Mahan partnership it’s the Americans who go into the afternoon’s fourball pairings with a 3 – 1 lead. It’s the first time the Americans have been ahead after the morning session in 17 years.

The bookies have responding by making them favourites at just 8/11 (Bet365) to claim an overall victory. The Europeans by contrast are now the longest price they’ve been to win the 2008 Ryder Cup at 13/8 (888 Sport, Blue Sq, Paddy Power, Skybet). The draw remains an 11/1 shot at Bet365 and William Hill.
