Will Beattie’s Run Continue?
Betting, Bookmakers, Fixed Odds, Football, Tipsters, Uncategorized | jimmyhillsbeard | April 26, 2008 at 12:18 pmA few weeks ago I mentioned that Sheffield United striker James Beattie has made a habit of going on scoring runs throughout his career. At that point he’d scored in his last 2 games and he’s since went to score in another 3, taking his streak to 7 goals in 5 games, including 2 penalties.

His Sheffield United side are on a great run of form and today host Bristol City. I expect there’ll be a few goals and certainly some opportunities for Beattie to extend his scoring run.
William Hill have Beattie as a 6/4 chance to score at any time during the match and looks a good bet to me. Of the last 5 games he’s opened the scoring on two occasions and scored the last goal in 4 of the 5. He’s 11/2 (Bet365, BetFred, BlueSq) to be first goalscorer today and also 11/2 (BetFred) to be last goalscorer.

Seems I have a curse when it comes to predicting goalscorers. Not only do they not score but they usually get taken off! James Beattie lasted 3 minutes before being substituted!
