Sunday’s Football Betting Tips
Betting, Bookmakers, Chit-Chat, Fixed Odds, Football, General Posts, Tipsters | jimmyhillsbeard | November 25, 2007 at 1:07 pmThere’s not a lot going on today but there are a few games that catch the eye on the betting front. I always like the Dutch football on a Sunday. The big three always seem head and shoulders above everyone else, with only AZ troubling them in the last few seasons. First port of call today is Amsterdam where Ajax take on Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredivisie. This one looks a home banker as Ajax seek to reclaim top spot from PSV with a win. At 2/7 (BetFred & Skybet) they are short but still worth backing.
My other banker for today is in Scotland, where lowly Gretna host Hearts at their temporary home, Fir Park. With just one win under their belt this season, Gretna are finding it tough and I don’t see them taking anything form today’s match. Hearts can blow hot and cold, and Gretna managed a creditable 1-1 draw last time the two teams met at Tynecastle but Hearts should be able to exact some kind of revenge today by claiming all 3 points. Again, they’re short at 8/15 with Coral.
Double up on Ajax and Hearts at BetFred or Skybet, where £25 will return £48.21.
Also in Scotland I fancy Dunfermline to lift the first silverware of the Season in the Challenge Cup. They take on a St. Johnstone side who lost their manager Owen Coyle to Burnley in midweek. Paddy Kenny has a great cup record and recently begun to turn around the Par’s fortunes. Add to that the fact that Dunfermline haven’t been beaten by the Saints in their last 10 meetings and the 19/10 on Dunfermline to win in 90 minutes at Canbet looks like a good price.
Picking winners in the Premier League is never easy and today’s two games look tricky to call. At Upton Park I’m really not sure which way it will go. Last season’s fixture there was an epic with spurs coming out 4-3 victors after two late goals that looked like they were going to send West Ham down at the time. Indeed goals seem to follow Spurs around, there’s no shortage of firepower up front and that defence still looks suspect. I’ll be going for over 2.5 goals in the game at 10/11 (BetFred, BlueSq, Coral).
At Craven Cottage, Blackburn look a good bet to take all 3 points away to Fulham. Rovers have a good record this season against teams below them in the league, whilst Fulham have only recorded one win their last 10 matches, that being a 3-1 home win against Reading. I not 100% convinced on this one so will play it safe by taking Blackburn on the Asian Handicap (0) – so effectively Draw No Bet – at 73/100 at Canbet or Stan James.
Finally, the Leeds bandwagon continues to keep on rolling. A win at bottom of the table Cheltenham would incredibly take them into 3rd position in the league. At 4/6 (Bet365, BetDirect, BlueSq) I’d be very tempted to add them to my banker double to make up a nice looking treble.
Todays picks;
- Ajax – 2/7 (BetFred & Skybet)
- Hearts – 8/15 (Coral)
- Leeds – 4/6 (Bet365, BetDirect, BlueSq)
- West Ham v Spurs – Over 2.5 goals – 10/11 (BetFred, BlueSq, Coral)
- Blackburn – (0) on Asian Handicap – 73/100 (Canbet, Stan James)
- Dunfermline – 19/10 (Canbet)
